Sammelan expenditure put at Rs. 2 crore PDF Print E-mail

Udupi, Dec 26: Treasurer of the reception committee of the 74th All India Kannada Sahitya Sammelan Surendra Nayak said on Tuesday that according to tentative calculations, Rs. 2 crores had been spent on the sammelan held in Udupi from December 12 to 15.

 

He was speaking at a thanksgiving function organised by the reception committee to thank all those who worked at the sammelan here.

Mr. Nayak said details of the money spent at the sammelan were yet to be fully calculated as some suppliers had still not given their bills. The Government had allotted Rs. 1 crore in the budget for the sammelan.

Reception committee general secretary U.C. Holla, MLC V.S. Acharya, the former MLA Raghupati Bhat, and Managing Trustee of Kadiyali Temple Anantaram Upadhyaya, thanked every one of the volunteers.
