Release Rs 40 cr, DV challenges Poojary, Moily PDF Print E-mail

Mangalore, Dec 24: BJP State President D V Sadananda Gowda challenged B Janardhan Poojary and M Veerappa Moily to urge the government to release Rs 40 crore for the drinking water project to Mangalore.

Speaking at Vikasa convention here on Sunday, he said "the previous government had approved Rs 40 crore for the vented dam. However, now Congress leaders are coming in the way of the release of the money. Governors office has informed that only one third of the fund will be released. Remaining fund should be raised from special fund."

He said "Congress is politicising the developmental programmes. They spend their time in Raj Bhavan. In the name of various commissions, they are giving assurances. If they can, they should release Rs 40 crore for the vented dam," he challenged.
Mr Gowda called upon the corporators to lead a model life and give good governance to the people. "We are ready to approach court for early election in the State," he said.

Former district-in-charge minister B Nagaraj Shetty said: "We should take steps to see that no voter is dropped from the voters list. There is a need to attract those voters who are outside the country.
State Spokesprson Suresh Kumar said the third round of janandolana will commence from December 24.  State General Secretary Shobha Karandlaje, former MLAs Krishna J Palemar, Yogish Bhat among others were present.
