Protests at Sahitya Sammelan were planned: Sorake PDF Print E-mail

Udupi, Dec 17: Congress leader Vinaykumar Sorake said on Sunday that the 74th All-India Kannada Sahitya Sammelan had got converted into a "sammelan of a particular political party."

In a press release here, Mr. Sorake said that the planned protests were organised to embarrass the former Chief Minister M. Veerappa Moily and the Union Minister Oscar Fernandes, when they were giving speeches.

It was a well-planned conspiracy.

The entire sammelan was dominated by attacks on the Union Government. There was not a single statement in favour of the pro-Kannada decisions taken by the Centre.
